Eric Conn duped the Social Security system out of over $500 Million. In the process ruined thousands of lives. In absentia, US District Judge Danny C Reeves sentenced Conn to 12 years in prison and ordered to pay a $170 Million in restitution.
As many of you know on June 2nd he cut off his ankle bracket in Kentucky and disappeared. At the time he had e-mailed a local paper stating that he had fled to a country that does not have extradition with the US. As with many other things stated by Mr. Conn, nothing about this appears to be true.
According to photos obtained by the FBI, Conn was spotted in a gas station and a Walmart in New Mexico in July. According to the FBI Conn’s pickup truck that had been supplied by an accomplice was found abandoned in New Mexico. The FBI feels that Conn wanted the FBI to find the truck. The FBI also states that there is no indication that Conn had crossed the border to Mexico.
Currently there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to his capture. His lawyer states that Conn has been in constant contact with him via e-mail, but his lawyer had no idea where he is. His lawyer states that Conn if captured could likely now get life in prison.
